The Great Gatsby Book Redesign

COMPLETE DUST JACKET | TYPOGRAPHY | ILLUSTRATION | LAYOUT COMPOSITION

For this project, I redesigned the cover and first two chapters of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby”, one of the most iconic American novels. Inspired by the novel's legacy and its’ rich visual adaptations, I focused on capturing the artistic essence of the 1920s while highlighting key motifs from the story. Using the art deco style, I illustrated a pivotal scene of the characters driving away, seamlessly extending this imagery into the front flap of the dust jacket and back cover.

The consistent use of Art Deco design elements informed the typography, page numbering, and decorative details, creating a cohesive and visually striking presentation. My goal was to emphasize the novel's significant themes, symbols, and atmosphere, delivering a dust jacket, layout composition, and book pages that reflect the timeless allure, key messages, and complexity of “The Great Gatsby.”
